For a winter night off 30A, the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra is performing The Lion King score live, synchronized with the full animated film. The program covers Hans Zimmer’s music and the songs by Elton John and Tim Rice, “Circle of Life” included. The youth price makes it an easy pick for families visiting over a January weekend.
The arts center is in Niceville, on the north side of Choctawhatchee Bay, so plan for a longer drive from South Walton. Box office: (850) 729-6000.
Before you make the drive: we confirmed this listing on the Mattie Kelly Arts Center’s event page on October 21, 2026, twelve days after Hurricane Isaias came ashore near Destin. Some South Walton amenities are still being repaired, so check with the organizer before you go.
