October 16, 2026
Date: Saturday, October 24, 2026
Time: 9 a.m.–1 p.m. (costume contest at 9 a.m., then the Derby)
Location: Seaside Amphitheater, Central Square, Seaside
Seaside’s Annual Halloweener Derby is a dachshund race with a dog costume contest, held in the Amphitheater in Central Square. This year Seaside describes the theme as a mix of Formula 1 style and classic Ralph Lauren sporting culture. The costume contest opens the morning at 9 a.m., and the races follow.
Racers need to register through the link on Seaside’s event page. Spectators can come early, find a spot on the Amphitheater lawn and grab coffee in Central Square before the first heat.
Storm note: Seaside’s rental company, Homeowner’s Collection, reported on October 15 that power is restored and all Seaside businesses are open as usual.
Before you make the drive: we confirmed this listing on Seaside’s events calendar on October 16, 2026, a week after Hurricane Isaias came ashore near Destin. Some South Walton amenities and beach accesses are still being repaired, so confirm with the organizer before you go.
