Just west of the Walton County line, Destin Commons hosts its annual Santa’s Arrival & Holiday Tree Lighting the Friday before Thanksgiving week. Expect holiday music, free face painting, free photos with Rudolph and Frosty, and a photo booth along Main Street. Santa makes his entrance in a parade at 7 p.m., lights the 50-foot tree and kicks off a fireworks finale.
From central or east 30A, plan on a longer drive west on US 98 and leave early, since a free fireworks night tends to fill parking.
Before you make the drive: we confirmed this listing on Destin Commons’ happenings page on October 21, 2026, twelve days after Hurricane Isaias came ashore near Destin. Some South Walton amenities are still being repaired, so check with the organizer before you go.
